This Friday, February 4th, 2012, Sweet Lou's Restaurant and Bar will be offering its lunch and dinner specials seven days a week from a new location on Highway 95 in Ponderay, Idaho, just north of the Kootenai Bay Cutoff Road.
Husband-and-wife team Chad and Meggie Foust opened the first Sweet Lou’s last April in the Holiday Shores Marina in Hope. An American-fare family restaurant, Sweet Lou’s offers specialties including a crowd favorite chicken fried steak, smoked prime rib, bison ribs and grilled PB&J sandwiches (we dare you to try it with bacon).
"We pride ourselves in great food, all made with fresh ingredients,” owner Chad Foust says. "All of our steaks are hand-cut, our burgers are freshly ground, our French fries are hand-cut, and if it is fried, you can bet that it will be hand-dipped.”
Both Chad and Meggie have deep North Idaho roots with family stemming from the Bonners Ferry and Coeur d’Alene areas. They share a strong passion for great food and experience in owning and operating a successful family restaurant.
"Since Sweet Lou’s is named after our 2-year-old son, it is important to keep the family atmosphere in mind in all that we do,” Meggie says. "We make sure that all kids are offered a quality food choice too. Everything on the children’s menu is made with the same fresh ingredients and quality control that adult customers enjoy.”
Along with a complete lunch and dinner menu, Sweet Lou’s will be offering a full bar with happy hour specials and multiple televisions to view your favorite game.
While the Hope location will continue to operate on a seasonal schedule, the Ponderay location will be open year-round, seven days a week.
"We are excited to have the opportunity to have two locations and the ability to offer even more guests a great dining experience,” Chad says. "We hope to see you here soon.”
The new Sweet Lou’s is located at 477272 Highway 95 in Ponderay. It will be open 11am - 9pm Daily.
